Great Sushi in Birmingham - Under New Ownership
Chef Mikey and his family now own and run this hidden gem in downtown Birmingham. He has incorporated new and innovative rolls to the menu. The quality is great. The service is friendly. Prices are reasonable. My family comes here all the time. My wife and kids love the Angry Bird Roll, the Crunch Roll and Shrimp Tempura Roll. The Spicy Salmon Roll is also outstanding. We also enjoy the Tempura Udon and Somen Noodle soup as well as the Bi-Bim-Bop. This is our go to Sushi spot! -

The prettiest and tastiest sushi I've ever had. Varied food selection if you're not into sushi, but I highly recommend trying as many rolls as possible.
Aside from the sushi, the service was glaringly lackluster. Our server rarely came by and never took our empty plates. There's an odd "one drink per customer" warning on the menu. Also, the wine comes in those little onesie bottles you can buy at Kroger for cheap. I don't recommend this spot for drinks at all. I came to celebrate my birthday and when we asked if they did something special for birthdays, they looked at me blankly.
Next time I'll get takeout; good food, awful service. -

We love this place! Best sushi and the nicest owners and family! We go there or get takeout at least once a week. They are always so nice and pleasant!

We ordered all 4 of the baked special rolls!
Salmon on the fire, fire cracker, lion king and smoothie.
All taste good and special. The sauce is very delicious and pair the sushi perfectly. Fire cracker is the only one has shrimp tempura in the roll.
We also ordered California and salmon avocado sushi, but the sushi rice of the California rolls is not so chewy.
We finished with Mochi ice cream. I don't like my green tea mochi ice cream. I cannot taste the green tea flavor.
Overall I'm amazed by the baked special sushi. But just so so with the others. -

Came here with the family after heading to the movie theater nearby and it didn't disappoint! The staple cucumber rolls and spicy tuna rolls were fresh tasting and nicely presented. Meals were a good size. Lots of Japanese and Korean options on the menu in addition to the sushi, including bibimbap. I ordered the tofu glass noodles (jap chae, basically) and they were good and not greasy like some other places I've had it at. The kids ranked it highly as well - the 8 year old 5 stars and the 4 year old "ten hundred" stars. Staff were attentive and returned to our table frequently to refill our waters and make sure we were happy with our food. Would definitely come back!
